SHARE PROJECT
The project concerns the major refurbishment of an apartment with a surface area of 51.31 m2 in Athens, with a view of turning it into a flat for both long-term and short-term occupancy. The entrance, living-room and kitchen areas are accommodated into single space. There is also a WC and a bedroom. Since the property will be made available for rent, basic changes were made aiming at the creation of a cosy atmosphere retaining, at the same time, a minimalistic aesthetic, so as to make it attractive to a much wider target crowd.
The wooden floor in a herringbone pattern adorning the living-room and the entrance area is the only element of the existing apartment which was retained. It was flawlessly combined with the sofa in green velvet as well as the light fixtures, which were especially chosen to accentuate the predominant material, metal in a bronze colour. Earthy light-coloured hues were selected for the remaining colours and the materials used in the composition of spaces. The walls are painted in white and play a key role, decorated with plaster slats, sometimes placed on the roof and sometimes on vertical planes.
With such interventions, we created a space capable of accommodating guests by providing all the necessary amenities and also a lighter aesthetic value to the space.
