SHARE PROJECT
The project concerns the refurbishment of the main areas of an apartment with a surface area of 118.74 m2 in a multi-storey building in the area of Nea Philadelphia in Athens.
The areas of the apartment which were considered for a more aesthetic result were the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. The design concept was based on the use of contrasting materials, a combination of warm and cool colours, as well as light- and dark-coloured hues.
The walls of the apartment remained white, and the floors were covered with white marble imitation tiles. In the dining and kitchen areas, floor separation was achieved in an organic shape using different mosaic imitation tiles. The impressive bookcase made of natural wood housing the TV covers the whole height of the wall, whereas the sliding ladder extends to the full height of the bookcase.
The kitchen area is separated by means of a tinted-glass sliding door. When you open the door you see the centrally placed dining island and the cupboards in black colour. The countertop surface made of green Tinos marble, as well as the three golden lighting fixtures in the shape of a honeycomb impart a lively atmosphere to this space.
In the bathroom and WC areas a palette of earthy colours was applied. The textures of gray marble and walnut wood prevail in the main bathroom, whereas gray mosaic tiles and Wenge wood elements were used in the WC in combination with the green hue of the walls for a somewhat lighter aesthetic. The design’s primary objective was to create a single functional space with an air of luxury.
