GroundPlan studio overtook the design and construction of a private tutoring school for English Language in Farsala town. The school was designed on a child-centered basis, so the vivid colors and small design surprises in the space could not be missing, as well as anything else that would create a child-friendly environment.
Main object of the design, as suggested by the client -who’ s also a teacher – was the creation of a colorful “hive”, which provides students with knowledge of the English language so that every child embraces it and will be prepared to use it when necessary, such as natural resource that will open new views in any aspect of his life.
In this manner the classrooms’ and offices’ separation walls at floor lever are leaving the orthogonal logic behind and following the design philosophy, making the building’s shape resembling to polygon beehive, thus creating associations to the design aspirations. The separation walls are interrupted from large transparent openings, as requested by the client, enabling the supervision of the space and enhancing the sense of transparency during daily school business.
