SHARE PROJECT
The project concerns the interior and exterior design of a 50 m2 countryside residence on top of an island hill. The building is situated at a location only 10 minutes away from the main town and overlooks the whole port and the nearby coast.
The main and auxiliary functions of the residence are implemented on two levels. The first level serves as a living room, a dining room and a kitchen area, whereas the second level is somewhat elevated and access to it is provided by four steps. It accommodates two bedrooms, a bathroom and a WC ensuite.
Grey natural stone was used to cover the exterior surfaces all around the building leaving uncovered arch-shaped areas on the main facade. These areas were plastered using pigmented plaster in earthy colors and used in combination with framed structures made from artificial wood.
Inside the house, a single forged-cement coat was used to cover every surface strengthening the sense that this is an island holiday house. The built-in suspended furniture, the fireplace, the kitchen structure and arched alcoves above the openings accentuate the feeling of summertime serenity.
The materials used in every space of the residence was forged cement in earthy colors,
natural wood for the exposed wood beam ceiling and additional wooden structures, reed mats as well as a pebble floor in the bathroom area.
