SHARE PROJECT
The project concerns the major refurbishment of an apartment with a surface area of 53,69 m2 in the area of the Central Railway Station in Athens, with a view of turning it into an apartment for short-term occupancy. The apartment has a kitchen also serving as a living-room area, a bathroom and two bedrooms.
The wooden floor adorning the living-room and the bedrooms is the only element of the existing apartment which was retained. The owners’ aesthetic brief was for a design having a more playful tone in mind and the use of bright rich colours which would enhance the desired effect.
The walls of the entrance to the apartment were painted in the same quiet blue colour, whereas a two-colour palette is predominant in the bedrooms where the same blue colour was used for the lower half of the walls and a rich bright yellow for the upper half. The kitchen also painted in the same blue colour, incorporating a bench painted in black, contrasts the white floor. All the pieces of furniture and other metal structures used everywhere in the apartment have a metal frame painted in black, while wooden structures and doors were painted in white making for a lighter atmosphere and accentuating the other elements. The bathroom was clad in marble imitation bathroom tiles in black and white hues to match the details in the rest of the apartment.
With such interventions, we created a friendly space capable of accommodating guests by providing all the necessary amenities at the same time.
