SHARE PROJECT
The project concerns the refurbishment of an apartment with a surface area of 104,93 m2 in the town of Farsala. The living room, the kitchen and the dining room are grouped into a single space, whereas a spacious corridor with the cloakroom provides access to the rest of the apartment housing the two children’s bedrooms, one master bedroom with a WC and the main bathroom of the apartment.
The owners’ aesthetic brief was for Nordic modernism, with predominant earthy and slightly dark-coloured hues. Therefore, the materials used were natural wood for the construction of the various features and gray microcement in masonry and floors. The apartment’ main areas remained predominantly white adorned with various structures in wood or metal. Spotlighting was employed to fulfill the lighting needs of the apartment, since a dark colour palette had been adopted throughout. This was achieved by the use of spotlights mounted on ceiling rails as well as external ceiling spotlights.
Pendant lights were added to areas where more light was needed or features had to be accentuated, such as the dining table seating many guests. The cloakroom plays the role of a hallway providing access to the other rooms. The WC was designed having a more playful tone in mind, using honeycomb-shaped tiles and a pastel green colour for the remaining parts of the walls. Gray tiles were used in combination with black-and-white tiles featuring a geometric design.
With such interventions, we created a space giving off an air of comfort and warmth thanks to the multitude of materials and hues used based on the principles of Scandinavian design.
