GROUND PLAN Architects undertook the design of “Retro Coffee-Bar” Take Away Shop in one of the most bustling streets in the city of Farsala, Larissa street.
More specifically, the shop embraces the intersection of Larissa and Riga Feraiou streets, which determined the design principles of the two facades.
GROUND PLAN Architects undertook the design of “Retro Coffee-Bar” Take Away Shop in one of the most bustling streets in the city of Farsala, Larissa street.
The design’s primary objective was that the shop’s identity should be absolutely clearly defined, looking at any one of the two facades, so high glass openings were used as the main feature. Entry of customers to separate areas, reserved respectively for coffee and snacks, is achieved through the sliding doors of each opening. This very element combined with the gray shade used in microcement, the vertical metal elements in petrol blue and the countertop along with the pass-through to the servers’ preparation area made of sheet metal in black, incorporating a surface imitation wood, constitute a sound combination of retro style and timeless aesthetic quality.
The interior space was designed based on the same aesthetic principle, in shades of black, beige, brown and petrol blue on textures of tile, metal, sheet metal and melamine, all on a base of a floor made from microcement.
The production area incorporates a suspended metal frame design, adding a more industrial touch to it. The frame also gives support to the lighting fixtures and some hanging planted elements, which in turn imparts a carefree and lighthearted feeling not only to Retro Coffee Bar employees and customers, but also to passers-by.
